About The Artist
Hello! My name is Nick Lyskawa! I'm a filmmaker, animator, and creative director with a major in film, television, and media - along with a sub-major in screenwriting - from the University of Michigan as a Highest Honors graduate.
As a passionate multi-media artist, I have a diverse creative skillset that breaches the boundaries of media specificity. I am passionate about working with analog as much as digital formats to tell meaningful and creative stories.
If I'm not editing or filming, I'm either reading, writing, watching movies, or admiring nature. I love to engage with the world, and although it can be scary, I'm in love with humanity. The best stories come from real life.
My creative style is adherent to the analog. As the world has digitized, I've fallen in love with texture and tactility. My aesthetic style relies on recreating analog processes and looks in digital software. In this aesthetic, I thematically explore the relationship between technology and humanity. If my art had a voice, it would scream:

My Work
Animation
I have developed a unique ability for animation in both analog and digital formats, and combining the two. I specialize in music video visualizers, and have collaborated with artists such as Mt. Joy to give lyrics to a new dimension.
Editing
I have experience in the Adobe Suite and Davinci Resolve, dynamically working between platforms to craft engaging stories on both a short and long form level. From award winning short films to instagram reels with over three million views, I have proven experience that I can construct impactful stories from a variety of materials.
Visual Design
I have a fondness for digital art as much as analog, and have created thematic pieces having been on display in person and on social media. These works tackle the themes I find most significant: intimacy, the relationship between technology and humans, and what it means to exist as an individual in an increasingly digital reality.
Graphic/Motion Design
I have extensive experience creating documentary and explainer visuals to tell meaningful stories. My visual style takes the approach of recreating analog effects in a digital parallel; I can put your footage in an 80s television, animate your logo with a familiar retro sheen, and create dynamic visuals with a tactile look to tell your story.
